Culture Summerside’s mission is to promote the value of art, heritage, and culture in our communities throughout the city. By highlighting our rich heritage, and showcasing the creativity of our citizens, we cultivate artistic endeavours, share the knowledge, and build the relationships needed with our residents to maintain and build a healthy vibrant population. We envision a city renowned for its cultural energy, preservation initiatives, and cultural tourism opportunities where arts, culture, and heritage thrive and are highly valued from a regional, provincial, and national perspective.

Culture Summerside is responsible for the operations of Wyatt Heritage Properties, made up of the Wyatt Historic House Museum, the MacNaught History Centre and Archives, and the Lefurgey Cultural Centre, as well as the Bishop Machine Shop Museum, and the International Fox Museum and Hall of Fame, and three art exhibit spaces.

Culture Summerside extends itself into the community through educational programming, presentations of music and stories, artistic displays, interpretive signage, historic building profiles, seasonal celebrations, and several websites of historical information. Audiences of all ages and economic and social backgrounds connect to programs that reflect the history and culture of Summerside and area. The lives of citizens and visitors is enlivened and enriched and the arts are promoted and appreciated.
